Last night we saw the CW series, Arrow debut and I have to say I was impressed.  I really thought the show was well written as well as acted by all.  I admit, I was anti-arrow at first because I wanted to see Justin Hartley carry on his role he made famous on Smallville.  However, after watching last night’s debut, I can see why they made the change. I feel that the creator’s of Arrow wanted to wipe the slate clean from the Smallville world and start a world of their own.  Which turned out brilliant I must say.

For those of you who missed last night’s episode, you missed a great background story for what appears to be a promising series.  I mean, the first few minutes had a reference to Deathstroke, the baddest assassin every created.  When I saw that mask on the island, my interest peaked and I couldn’t keep my eyes off the screen.  I hope this means we will see a Deathstroke story in the future.  There are rumors of a Deadshot as well as Deathstroke appearance in the first season, which I hope these rumors turn to reality.  Anyway, I am getting off subject so let me get back to the show.

Last night, Oliver Queen was found alive after being missing for 5 years.  He is the only survivor of a nasty boat wreck.  While on the island, the Oliver everyone knew died and the Emerald Archer was born.  That was a necessary transition to survive the trials and tribulations that the island provided.  Since his recovery, Ollie acts the party boy to cover his new identity.  His Green Arrow persona took little time to make himself known since the rescue of Mr. Queen.

This season is going to be filled with twists and turns and I will be there at every turn.  Episode one hooked me and I will continue to watch every week.  Stephen Amell is doing a great job as Ollie/Arrow.  The casting director did a great job when they chose him to play the lead.  Sure the series is not going to stick to the original Arrow as seen in the comics, but he will definitely keep true to the code of the archer we all know and love.  DC Comics wants their characters to pop and attract a new audience as seen by the new 52 comics on sale now.  Well, DC you have a hit on your hands with Arrow, and your audiences will continue to grow.  I give this episode a 10 out of 10 rating and I have a feeling that every episode will be a 10.

If you didn’t get to see it last night or you forgot to DVR it, you can watch it online here:
