The Batman Arkham Unhinged comics are taken right out of the Arkham City game. The purpose is to inform you about how these characters met and why they are important to the game. Issue #3’s story is titled Ruffled Feathers and it tells a tale of how the Joker and the Penguin were associates at once. More importantly, it explains why they had a falling out.
The issue begins with the Penguin’s henchman returning empty handed. The Penguin of course wants to know what happened. Well, they proceed to tell him what had happened. It turns out that the Penguins heist was hijacked by the Joker and the men were jumped by Batman. After telling their story of escape, they open the crate that they did get only to find a bottle of wine. The Penguin wants it gone, but one of his henchmen wants a taste. Let’s just say when the Joker’s involved, that’s not a good idea.
The story goes back and forth from the past to the present to help you realize why the Joker and the Penguin will never see eye to eye. It is truly an entertaining story and worthy of reading. If you are a Batman fan, or simply just a fan of the Arkham City video game, you need to read this book. While you are at the store, try to find issues #1 and 2 as well. You will be glad you did.
