Savage-Wolverine-019-(2014)-(Digital)-(Nahga-Empire)-012

How are you on this fine Wednesday, or in this case Wolverine Wednesday?  I am writing this post to tell you about an awesome comic series you should be reading.  I understand that there are a lot of Wolverine fans out there so I am sure this titles sells pretty well, but I want to speak to all of you whether you get this title or not because I think it is that Awesome!  The title I speak of is Savage Wolverine.  This is definitely one book that is worth reading.  I know there are several Wolverine titles out there including his work with the Avengers and X-men, but Savage Wolverine deals with the time periods between those issues.  Hell, sometimes the book tells a tale that you may not have known that Logan was involved with.

Savage Wolverine came out the gates with a wonderful story line starring Shanna as well as an encounter with the Hulk.  I mean, what a way to start off a series.  In later issues you had a kick ass team-up with Elektra which made your heart race with every turn of the page.  We have also seen Spider-Man make an appearance or two and just recently Jubilee and Professor X from the X-men made and appearance (event took place way before Civil War and A vs X).

Another reason to love the Savage Wolverine series is its attempts to include historic accuracy in the timelines.  For example, they mention the Dust Bowl, Great Depression, assassination of President Kennedy, St. Valentine’s Day Massacre, and are currently talking about the Great War (WW I).  I feel that is important because he helps us remember the important events in life and how things shape up around them.

One final reason to love Savage Wolverine is its use of humor when it is needed.  You know the one liners or in the case of Spider-Man, site comedy.  If you haven’t read any of Savage Wolverine, the Spider-Man reference is shown in the image below.  Basically, Spidey thinks Logan has some cool stuff and he was caught red handed playing with a sword (Issue #6, if I remember correctly). Anyway, the following panels let you know that Wolverine was not amused.

All in all, the artwork as well as the writing for every issue of Savage Wolverine has been spot on.  I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone who is a Wolverine fan and if you are not a fan, you will be after reading Savage Wolverine.  I give this series a perfect rating of 10 out of 10.  So what are you waiting for?  Get your copies of Savage Wolverine today while you are getting your other comics (today is New Comic Book Day).  Until next time, Get your READ on!
