Attention to all fans of Cosplay, I have another great interview with a beautiful and talented cosplayer. She goes by the name Rune Cosplay and she means business. I first got a glimpse of her work when a mutual friend shared her Ghost in the Shell cosplay. When I saw it, I knew that I had to share her wonderful cosplays with you. So, enough about what I think, let us dive into the wonderful mind that is Rune Cosplay.
SWN: Who are you and where are you from?
Rune: I am Rune aka Melanie and I live in the good ole’ south
SWN: How did you discover cosplay?
Rune: I was around 14 and was,what i thought,the only anime nerd in my school until i found my best friend Nicole aka Rhyme Cosplay. We got to hanging out and geeking over Naruto …(yes, we were Narutards ha ha one of my first cosplays was Kakashi XD ) and Kingdom Hearts.We decided to dress up as them before we even really knew there was a thing such as “Cosplay” LoL and it was just a domino effect after that.
SWN: I really love your Motoko, Ghost in the Shell cosplay. What made you choose that specific character?
Rune: I grew up watching this show along with a few others with my mom and she is just a bad-ass android that can kill you, so why not get to be someone that cool ! ..plus I get to carry my gun (fake) and go pew pew pew pew to anyone I want, ha ha.
SWN: What other genres do you cosplay?
Rune: As I have gotten older I have started to become more of a comic book fan and gaming fan more so than anime( I still love it just not as much as these). That’s the style you will start seeing my cosplays progress more into as the years go on.
SWN: When you are not cosplaying, what do you find yourself doing for fun?
Rune: lol, making cosplays or spending time with my husband (Sorry guys!! Im taken and happy ) but mostly sewing and syling my wigs and learning new techniques for prop making is what I do for fun. Since I make all of my costumes I am always trying to better my technique.
SWN: What is your favorite way to show off a new cosplay?
Rune: PHOTOSHOOOOT at a convention lol the best of both worlds! The feeling when people say they like my cosplay or that its the best they have ever seen just makes all my hard work pay off.
SWN: Do you do other modeling besides cosplay?
Rune: I am getting more into it. I actually want to try out for Americas Next Top Model when I get back from my deployment with the Air Force… Since I’m so tall (5’11) might as well give it a shot ha ha.
SWN: What are your plans for the future?
Rune: Just to have fun with cosplay while I can and to try and further my career outside of my hobby. My end goal is to teach English over in Japan by the end of 2017.

SWN: If you had to pick one cosplay, which one is your favorite?
Rune: LoL, I get this question all the time and I think the answer changed all the time. Depends on the day but I think its going to be one that I have not completed yet.
