One of my favorite Avengers has always been Hawkeye.  Just something about the skill to hit any target with a bow and arrow always struck me as cool.  Plus I loved his costume back in the ‘80s.  Anyway, Marvel has given the archer his own series and issue #1 was a great read.

This issue shows us what life is like for Hawkeye’s other half.  It shows you the “simple” life that Hawkeye aka Clint Barton lives.  We first glimpse Hawkeye in a hospital after a major fall. Once he is released from the hospital he gets into a world of trouble.  He saves a dog as well as tenants of a very rude landlord.

How you ask?  He offers to pay the rent for the tenants but that is not enough for the landlord Ivan and as Clint says, “His tracksuit mafia”.  Anyway, it ends up that Hawkeye has to fight said mafia and the dog helps Clint out.

I will not give all the details to Hawkeye #1 due to the fact I think you need to read it.  It is very well written.  The artwork is original and impressive at the same time.  This book does what it is meant to do and tell a story.  It is a story that has you cheering for the underdog.

I give this issue a rating of 10 out of 10.  I cannot wait to see what action Clint gets into next time. Until next time, Nerds Assemble!
