Well, well, well, Nerd of all ages I have finally reached a milestone in my Nerdom, if you will.    This makes the 100th cosplayer I have interviewed in my blogging career.  I know I usually post my cosplay interviews on Mondays, but I had to wait for the 2013 SDCC to be over so that I could get in touch with the special cosplayer that I had in mind for number 100.  This young lady is by far the best Witchblade cosplayer I have ever seen.  So sit back, relax, and enjoy my latest cosplay interview.  Today’s focus is on the lovely and talented Jacqueline Goehner.

1. Who are you and where are you from?

My name is Jacqueline Goehner and I’m from San Francisco, CA.

2. How did you discover cosplay?

I discovered cosplay back in 2005 when I went to my first convention at Ani-Magic in Lancaster, CA.

3. You are the best Witchblade cosplayer there is! What drew you to that character?

When I was a kid, there weren’t very many strong female characters that I could relate to. Sara Pezzini, a NY cop who’s not only beautiful and the hero of the story, but is also strong willed and doesn’t seem to take crap from anyone. I had plenty of feminine, beautiful influences to spare, but rarely a woman of strength.

4. Have you ever cosplayed any other comic characters?

I have; I cosplayed Catwoman (Tim Burton’s Batman Returns), and Gwen Stacy from Spiderman. I am almost done with my Wonder Woman cosplay and I hope to have Phoenix done before the year is out. I’m also working on a new MAJOR project; the cosplay is a Top Cow character, but unlike Witchblade, it’s going to take a lot longer than 3 days to make!

5. Are you planning on any modifications to your Witchblade cosplay?

Nope, but I have made 2 new Witchblade costumes since WonderCon 2013. I am planning on at least one more that’ll be more covered :D

6. Do you go to conventions to show off your cosplay or do you do photo shoots only?

I do both! It’s a lot of fun showing off new costumes, more so when you meet fellow fans that are just as giddy as you are about the series!

 7. Do you do other modeling besides cosplay?

Eh, not really. Don’t get me wrong, modeling can be fun, but it’s just not my thing. I grew up with acting throughout my life and that’s something I’m MUCH more satisfied with.

8. What are your plans for the future?

DYING!!! LOL Actually, getting more into costume designing for films, since I already do it for the theatre. I’m still going to attend more conventions and wear more costumes, that’s not gonna die anytime soon ;)

9. Where can my readers see more examples of your work?

Mostly on my Facebook fan page at www.facebook.com/HappyGoJackie, I also have a deviantart under theprincesszelda.deviantart.com and my Etsy store under TheLadyJacqueline.

10. Since you are such a huge Witchblade fan, what is your favorite story arc starring Sara?

Probably War of the Witchblades. You’ve got the classic super hero beginnings formula; two best friends that become enemies with a huge fight scene at the end. It’s a classic tale and is normally beaten out with many clichés, but Ron Marz did a great job keeping it suspenseful!
