There is a lot of commotion going on over the Batman/Superman team-up or fight or whatever is happening in the upcoming Man of Steel 2. So far, I don’t think I’ve heard anything positive about it. Maybe because Snyder’s first Man of Steel was a little dry in story progression or that there is a massive hate party over Affleck wearing the cape and cowl, or even that Gal Gadot doesn’t look Amazonian enough (she’s 5’10” and gorgeous, that’s pretty AMAZIoNian to me…dumb joke I know but there it is). Point is for a movie with all that negative buzz and a release date in 2015 that has yet to start filming, it doesn’t seem like everything is ready for this movie to be anything but disappointing. Heck, I don’t think Metropolis has even had time to rebuild after the super powered smack down that happened in the first Man of Steel. But I do remain hopeful that this movie will be good.

 Man of Steel S

You kind of have to be hopeful. It has a Kryptonian symbol for “Hope” in it. As in  “I Hope it’s a good sequel.” But it still just looks like an “S” to me.

That being said, the latest news on the Man of Steel 2 front is a new member has been added to the writing credits. Chris Terrio, the Oscar-winning writer of Argo (Yeah, Ben Affleck’s movie. Turns out he is an award winning film maker across many fields. We kind of tend to forget that he has done many good things, but still can’t shake being a lame Daredevil) is now on board to lend a hand. So maybe Terrio can turn the buzz for this movie from being mostly negative to something positive. After all, I remember all the nerd rage we had over Heath Ledger playing Joker, and look how well that turned out. Well sort of. RIP Heath Ledger.

My name is Critter. Yeah, that’s right Critter. Wanna fight about it? I live in southeast Louisiana and make a living as a graphic artist. I started writing after I took a creative writing class in college and ever since, I thought I was like Ernest Hemingway but with way more spelling errors, fart jokes, and nerdy references. In addition to writing for somewhatnerdy.com, I run and write for another website called www.social-virus.com, where I ramble on about various topics, post drawings and illustrations, and even sell a bunch of shirts I design. You should check it out. It's pretty cool, but of course I'm a little jaded on the subject.
