The puppets battle their most powerful enemy yet as they protect the new puppet master from the demon God that created the Secret of Life.

I’ll be honest with you here, I really don’t know what to say about this film, I wrote it all in the previous post. Yes this film is near enough an exact copy of the previous film and that’s hard to understand seeing as 4&5 where shot back-to-back. So you’ll have to bare with me and if this post ends up being shorter than the others then I apologize now.

We pick up where the last film left us, Rick Myers is now the new Puppet Master, Toulon has passed down the torch to him. Problem is, is that Rick’s being held on murder charges after the killings of his colleagues and friend. Lauren, the psychic,  is in hospital in a sort of traumatic coma.

The funny thing is, is that no one seems upset about the events that have just happened. In-fact Rick’s girlfriend, Susie, is more interested in getting him into bed! Also the man who’s bailed Rick out, Dr. Jennings, is intrigued about the puppets and heads to the hotel to find them, with Rick and the puppets also doing the same thing….. Although they don’t know each other is there until near the end of the film……Yeah.

Also do you remember The ancient demon God ‘Sutek’ who died in the last film? Well somehow he’s come back (With no explanation) and is once again sending a demon back to the hotel, only this time he’ll be inside the demon, to finish the job.

It’s unfortunate because the initial set up- Rick Myers looks very guilty of murder, Dr. Jennings, a scientist being corrupted by a big organization to find the the secret of the puppets, could potentially have led to an intriguing film, instead of the uninspired ‘ people wandering around a dark hotel and getting killed’ number……..Again.

Yes it’s a formula that worked in the earlier puppet master films, but the characters had actual character, and weren’t just cardboard cut-outs. As campy and hammy as they may have been, you felt for them. Honestly I was SOOOOO disappointed with this, like I said there really isn’t much to write about it, I would actually recommend skipping this one if you’ve seen number 4.
