Capture

Six college students take a wrong turn and find themselves lost in a strangely deserted rural town.

The saga continues with a fifth entry and shows no sign of slowing down.

Once again I kept my expectations low and, well, once again I was shown that even a fifth entry in a franchise can still produce something that is fun to watch and still keep you interested. True it wasn’t exactly original but by now we’ve come to expect that.

The casting of the film is a strong one in this feature, you have a young Eva Mendes in her first starring role and a strong assemble around her who are more than capable at doing their job, including the always reliable amazing Fred Williamson.

Ethan Wiley took over writing and directing duties for this feature and did a stand up job, he kept things simple and the plot is well paced. It certainly fits into the category of a Slasher flick and yes it may have the genre’s clichés but it’s not something that is off putting.

We get a couple of cameos from some well known faces in the shape of David Carradine and Kane Hodder which is always fun to see and always adds to the enjoyment of the film, once again we also get enough blood and special effects to satisfy the blood thirsty lot out there.

“Children of the Corn V – Fields Of Terror” is an enjoyable entry in the series and definitely one of the best, be sure to give it a try.
