Well folks, there you have it. The entire “From Dusk Till Dawn” franchise review.

It’s been interesting looking back over this franchise.

As I stated in my review of the first film, it was a life changing moment for me, an awakening into the modern world of vampires. It was because of this film that I looked back at other vampire films such as “The Lost Boys”. We all start somewhere and this was a starting point for me, that’s probably why I look back on it so fondly, but it’s still a great film.

The sequels, well I have to admit that they honestly didn’t really do anything for me. The second film was dull and the third film, though enjoyable, just wasn’t anywhere near as good as it could’ve been, the same thing could be said for the second film as well actually. My favourite thing actually was spotting that Danny Trejo is the only person to appear in all three features.

The budget for all three films was $30 million, the first film alone was about $20 million so it shows you how much faith the studios had in the sequels, despite “From Dusk Till Dawn” making a profit, shame really. One thing I do recommend for you fans out there is the comic book film adaptation, it’s got some great artwork. There was also a videogame released but I never got to play that.

Like many other films “From Dusk Till Dawn” got caught up in the popular reboot series treatment, in all honesty I haven’t watched it, I haven’t actually watched any tv series reboots of films, well one if you count “Ash VS Evil Dead”. I know Robert Rodriguez is the director and I’m a fan of his work but I just have no interest in this at all.

“From Dusk Till Dawn” is a weak franchise but that first film, it was so damn good. if you don’t watch the rest you’re not really missing out.
