A group of college students gets lost in a storm during their snowmobiling trip and takes shelter in an abandoned sanitarium which, unbeknown to them, is home to three deformed cannibals.

When all else fails, prequel.

Wrong Turn 4 2011 Bloody Beginnings (1)

In all honesty what more could you do at this point, after the failure of both sequels the studio had to try to do something to reignite the audience’s interest. To be fair to them it did initially work and fan interest did pick up again.

Unfortunately the writers decided to go down a more comedic route than what we were used to, this was a shame because this entry had a ton of potential. With it’s location and seasonal setting it could have rebooted itself and betaken seriously once again.

That’s not to say it isn’t good though, oh no it’s still highly entertaining, especially if you watch it with some beers and friends it can be a great source of amusement for all. This is more comedy/horror than the other way around and it doesn’t try to be.

I must admit this is a bit of a guilty pleasure, it’s a film that ticks all the stereotypes and cliches that we get annoyed with yet it’s cheesiness manages to win you over. It’s just so ridiculous but it works and you can fault the film-makers for that.

“Wrong Turn 4 – Bloody Beginnings” is fun and entertaining, definitely better than the previous sequels.
