Writer: Frank Tieri                                               Publisher: Marvel Comics
Artist: Mark Texeira

Ok, last week I did a comic review on the storyline the Marvel Universe Vs. the Punisher.  This story dealt with the Punisher killing zombies.  In Space: Punisher, Frank is killing aliens.  Boy, Marvel sure does like throwing their characters in multi-dimensions at one time don’t they, lol.  The story does seem quite interesting.  Please allow me to explain.

Space: Punisher #1, starts with an image of the Punisher flying through space on a quest for vengeance in a galaxy that is different than our own.  So therefore, do not try to make the characters make sense in the other Marvel titles that you are reading.  Frank is after the intergalactic mafia known as the Six-Fingered Hand.  Why, because they are responsible for the death of his family.  He first kills of a race of Sym-Brood Ants.  Nasty looking things but nothing the Punisher can’t handle.

Once he cleans himself off, he heads to the Starjammer to find out info on some of the Hand’s henchman; one in particular known as the Barracuda.  He has a face-off with the bar’s bouncer before getting the information he wants. As an added bonus, he gets intel on the leaders of the Six-Fingered hand.  Which I have to admit was a clever use of known Marvel villains.  I am not going to go in more specifics because I think you should read the book for yourself.  It is definitely worth picking up today.

The writing by Tieri is phenomenal and the art of Texeira is out of this world.  Plus, the fact that I spotted an infamous bounty hunter at the space bar was awesome!  You can find him on the page that has the Punisher entering the Starjammer.  I give this title a strong 9 out of 10.  I would and will recommend this title to anyone and everyone.
