Everyone in the world is familiar with Star Wars and knows who Darth Vader is, but have they heard of the Ghost Prison? That is what this mini-series is about.  So far, they have been 2 great issues and I cannot wait until issue #3, but let me explain why.

The first issue has us follow along Commander Laurita Tohm when he was just a cadet.  He, along with other cadets, was set to graduate on Coruscant.  As the other cadets are trying to relax, Tohm is constantly studying tactics and maneuvers. His friends try to get him to relax but he is anxious to see what his assignment will be once he graduates.  The graduation takes place and we are introduced to Headmaster Gentis, who is giving the opening ceremony to his cadets to make sure they are ready to die for the Empire.  The graduation ends and we find out that Tohm is to report to Grand Moff Tarkin’s fleet within the week.  He is excited and wants to prepare but his friends, Caul and Shens, have other plans. They trick him into a prototype fighter and lock him in it to keep him “safe”.  Well, Tohm wants no part of it and he uses the escape hatch as soon as his “friends” leave.  What happens next will blow your mind.  Coruscant is under attack.  Tohm watches Vader take on several attackers before joining in the fray.  The story ends only to find out the identity of the attackers and Tohm has a hard choice or does he?

The second issue you realize Commander Tohm is loyal to no one but the Empire.  To prove so, he kills an associate and pledges loyalty to Darth Vader.  Vader commands Tohm to follow him as they work their way to the Emperor.  On their way, they come across fallen guards and soldiers due to a biological weapon of some sort.  They get to the Emperor and Commander Trachta is there as well.  They divide up; Trachta takes the Emperor to safety while Tohm and Vader go to the Jedi Temple to find resources to counter attack the enemy.

This storyline is amazing!  I would love to just gone on and on about the details but I do not want to spoil the book for you.  If you are a Star Wars fan, get the book!  If you are a Darth Vader fan, get the book!  If you love well written comics, get the book!  So far I give this story a strong 10 out of 10. Stay tuned for my review of issue #3 when it hits newsstands everywhere.
