Star Wars Purge: the Tyrant’s Fist Comic Review

If you are like me, you love a good Darth Vader story. And boy do I have a good one for you. Star Wars – Purge: the Tyrant’s Fist is a 2 part story about Lord Vader and his quest to hunt down the remaining Jedi shortly after Palpatine issued Order 66.

Issue #1 follows Vader on his quest to purge a Jedi-back insurgency on the planet Vaklin. The insurgency is led by a Jedi Knight known as Cho’na Bene. In Vader’s efforts to kill him, has left a lake of death behind him. Although Vader is relentless in his mission, Cho’na found a way to escape. Well, as we all know, Vader is very resourceful.

Vader was successful in killing two of Cho’na’s fellow Jedi warriors, but his obsession with killing has blinded him, or has it? The Emperor reminds Vader that the insurgency must be stopped but without hurting the resources on Vaklin. So, needless to say that ruined his plans to bomb a planet.

Issue #2 lets us witness what it would have been like to be on a planet that is taken over by the Empire and how swiftly it can occur. Elsewhere on Vaklin, we are witnesses to Vader’s ongoing search for Cho’na. Vader and his prize meet and have an epic battle, but Vader walks away convinced that Cho’na will die where he lies after their battle. Does Cho’na die? Well, you will have to get these 2 issues to find out.

I apologize if you feel this review was too vague, but I really want you to be able to enjoy this story on your own. I know I did. It just proves how much of a bad ass Vader really is. I give this title a strong rating of 9 out of 10. It would have gotten a 10, but I wanted more. Oh, and wait until you see the promo for the next Vader title to be released in April. It looks to be a killer!
