As I have said before the Punisher is one of my favorite characters of all time.  So naturally when I saw the Marvel Universe Vs. the Punisher I just had to have it.  I bought each issue until I had all four issues, then I proceeded to read each glorious page uninterrupted. I love this story and cannot stop reading it.

For those of you who may not have read it, it starts with the Punisher letting you know of the “zombie” epidemic by use of his war journal.  He himself is immune due to the start of the disease.  How you ask?  Well, the Punisher was doing what he does best and stopping crime but one raid the weapons that were being sold were chemical.  The bad news is as he shot the criminals, the biological weapon was released and some of it got on Frank.  That is why he is immune.

Well, since Zombies are flesh eaters therefore killers what does the Punisher do?  He kills every last one of them.  Zombie hero or villain it doesn’t matter.  Once infected, its kill or be killed according to Frank.  Anyway, the series follows Frank and his “punishing” spree killing the diseased and saving any survivors that he can.  Unfortunately the odds are starting to stack against him and he needs to take help from an unusual source, Patient Zero.  When you read the story you realize that Patient Zero is the first super to be infected.

Zero asks Frank to get his mate and he will let him know where the survivors are.  Frank takes the deal and saves the mate.  In doing so, he has added to his death count.  Not all the kills are easy but you will enjoy reading about it. He returns the mate, gets the info he wanted, and puts an end to Zero once and for all.

This storyline is definitely worth picking up.  If you are a Marvel, Punisher, or even a zombie fan, you will really enjoy this book.  If you can’t find the back issues at your local comic shop or ebay, I am sure you can find a trade version.  I love this story and I have read it numerous times.  I give it a 10 out of 10 rating, so pick yours up today!
