Walking Dead

It is the return of Walking Dead Wednesdays and boy do I have a doozy for you.  I apologize for the lack of Walking Dead posts from me, but as I said in an earlier post, my schedule has been hectic.  Things are finally going a little smoother so I can finally get back to doing Walking Dead Wednesdays at least twice a month.  Anyway, let’s talk about why I am here at this time which is to talk about the Walking Dead.

Usually I discuss all things dead from the comics or novels, but today I want to focus on the game I bought this Black Friday for my PS Vita.  I know some of you lucky Sobs have had the pleasure to play this game already but I was not one of the lucky ones until it became available for the Vita. The Walking Dead Season 1 is by far my favorite game that I have played in a long time.  Don’t get me wrong, I am still enjoying my other games like Killzone and Arkham Origins, but I am addicted to the Walking Dead.  I just got the game in the mail yesterday and I played it all night.  Hell, I played it until my Vita ran out of juice and needed to be recharged.  This is just one damn good game!

In the game you are a man named Lee who is given a second chance in life by the Hell that has happened on Earth.  You see, Lee was on his way to prison when the outbreak began.  Due to some luck, good or bad you decide, he is a free man but at what price?  Shortly after his “escape” he comes a cross a girl named Clementine who he has decided he must protect from the plague at all costs.

The Walking Dead Season 1 video game is a must have for any platform for any Walking Dead fan.  Telltale games have done a wonderful job tying this in to the world that Robert Kirkman created. I think that is what makes this game so damn addictive.  Being a fan of the comics as well as the show, I love the continuity that exists throughout the game.  I mean hell, I am killing zombies while Glenn has my back and that is pretty damn cool!  I know, I know, why am I acting so excited?  I cannot help it, the game is just that awesome!  No wonder it won over 90 game of the year awards.

The thing I love most about the game is that its your choices that decide how the game is going to play out.  No scripted path you must follow, it is your choices that will help you live or die in this volatile world.  Of course I have to give this game a high rating.  The way I have been talking about it you would think I would give it a perfect 10, but there are some issues I would teak first so I am going to give the Walking Dead video game a strong 9 out of 10 rating.  So, stop reading this review and get your copy already.  Trust me, you will be glad you did.
