Today is Day 3 of our post SDCC extravaganza. For my third cosplay interview, I have a young lady who goes by the name A Clockwork Dooli but some of you may know her as Amanda Dooli. We have a mutual friend in the world of Cosplay known as Harley’s Love Shack. In fact, I had reached out to both of them at the same time for an interview and they both recommended each other for an interview. That is what I call a loyal friendship. That is why I decided to share my interviews with the both of them in the same week. But enough of my rambling, check out this interview with the lovely and talented Amanda aka A Clockwork Dooli.
1. Who are you and where are you from?
I’m Amanda Dooli from Margate, Florida
2. How did you discover cosplay?
I found cosplay through a friend who thought cosplay and cons would help me with my depression and self-esteem. My first con was Chibi Pa 2012. I went as Black Widow.
3. I absolutely love your Alex DeLarge cosplay, how did that idea come to mind?
Clockwork Orange is one of my all time favorite books/movies. The costume seemed easy to replicate, so I did it.
4. What other genres do you cosplay? Do you have a favorite genre?
I mostly cosplay comic heros and villians. DeLarge is my only horror movie cosplay. I’d say comics are my favorite to do because there’s so many characters to love.
5. What other hobbies do you have besides cosplay?
I love reading books and comics. I go to concerts and I play a little of my own music.
6. Do you prefer photo shoots or going to cons to show off your new cosplays?
I prefer cons over shoots because I feel less awkward. I also like it better because you get to meet people and talk. Cons are awesome because you get to make so many friends.
7. Do you do other modeling besides cosplay?
I don’t model outside of cosplay.
8. What are your plans for the future?
I wanna hopefully get better at sewing and crafting so I can make better and better cosplays. I have a lot of talented friends that are willing to help me out.
9. Where can my readers see more examples of your work?
You can see my work on my Facebook page A Clockwork Dooli or my Tumblr aclockworkdooli.tumblr.com
10. If you had to pick one cosplay, which one is your favorite?
I think my Alex Delarge is my favorite because you don’t really see too many. It’s also super comfy to wear and I love acting like him.
