Things are getting crazy with Arthur and his friends in the latest issue of Aquaman. As we left issue #11, we saw Black Manta find the seventh weapon that he claims will destroy the life of Aquaman. Well, Arthur is not going down without a fight so he attacks Black Manta.
They battle for a little while and it looks like Manta has the upper hand, when out of nowhere Mera and the Others come to the rescue. A large battle occurs and Manta slips away. Arthur, Mera, and the Others have their hands full as they take on Manta’s army.
While Arthur is distracted, Manta tries for the kill shot. He would have succeeded if Arthur didn’t have loyal friends. You see, Vostok gave his life to save Arthur. Manta took that distraction as a way to leave the battlefield. As Arthur watches his friend die, he vows that Black Manta dies now and by his hands.
Let me tell you, I would not mess with Aquaman. Manta has some serious crimes to pay for and Arthur will be happy to make sure he suffers. The writing for the New 52’s Aquaman is outstanding since issue #1. I have said it before, and I will say it again, DC has a real hit on their hands. I give this issue a rating of 10 out of 10. To see more of Aquaman kicking ass, I recommend that you watch the Robot Chicken DC Comics special Sunday, September 9.
