Let me just say what almost everybody knows already and I’m sure your not going to read something you haven’t read somewhere already… The Avengers movie was freakin great. (This review will have no spoilers at all, so its safe to read if you haven’t seen the movie.) It was everything a Nerd could want from a comic book movie and more. More importantly it puts director Joss Weadon up to the level (which most of us always knew he was capable of) of a big blockbuster movie director. You can really see the love and knowledge he has for the characters and the Marvel universe. And he even does his famous thing he always does with a character you grown to love … watch the movie, don’t want to spoil it for you.
Full of action (which includes about a 30 minute fight scene) and full of humor but not in a slap-stick kind of way. Every character was perfectly played … Cap was the leader, with the old school morals, Hulk broke stuff, Thor was mighty, Iron Man was witty and cocky, Black Widow was tough and bad-ass and so was Hawkeye. Everybody has really set up shop with the characters they are playing. Seeing everybody interacting with each other was a dream come true … really I have waited my whole life for comic book movie of this scale.
Let me just go on record here and say … Mark Ruffalo played a much better Bruce Banner than Edward Norton did (which is really hard for me to say because I love me some Notron.) He nailed the Nerdy, nervous Banner. Almost playing into the “I’m a ex-alcoholic and I’m scared at what I’ll do if I touch the devils juice again.” Greatness!
All in all it was great … so if you were on the fence about going to see it, GO SEE IT NOW!! I can go on and on about all the Nerdgasmic moments but you really owe it to your innerNerd to see it yourself.
