Hey hey hey, it’s your friendly neighborhood comic reviewer swinging by for another comic book you should be reading. I know, I know, from the intro you were thinking about a certain wall-crawler but you would be wrong. Today’s post focuses on the Justice League 3000 series from DC Comics. Why should you read the JL3000 series? It’s simple, It’s the Justice League of the Future. Duh, LoL. On a serious note, it is just a well written comic.
When you first get into the series, you are thinking that they are clones of the heroes brought to life by the wonder twins (no not the same ones from the 70’s show). Then you find out it is more complicated than that. The heroes are trying to figure out the truth when they are forced into this war with villains that are more cunning and powerful than any of the villains the original JL had fought. With everything that is going on with Earth 2 and Future’s End, you ,the reader, are trying to also figure out what universe or dimension if you will, they are from. Like I said before it is well written. Of course when you find out the writer is none other than Keith Giffen, you knew it had to be good. The artwork of Howard Porter is unique and brings life to this well written masterpiece. If that wasn’t enough, you have the color styling of our good friends over at Hi-Fi (Click here for Interview) to add the cherry on top. Put all of that together and you have one kick ass comic series.
I absolutely love this book. So far, there has been 10 issues and I give each one of them a perfect rating of 10 out of 10. Not only for the comic writing itself, but the look of the Justice League as well. If they come out with JL3000 figures, I will buy every single one of them. When you read the series, you will be as hooked as I am. So there you have it, a comic I think you should pick up from issue #1 and sink your teeth into. Until next time, get your READ on!
