Marvel Now! has another hit on their hands. Moon Knight is back and he is here to stay. As many of you already know, my favorite Marvel characters have always been the Punisher and Moon Knight. Well, I finally got my wish about a decent Punisher series and now it appears that the comic gods have heard my cries and made a great series with my other favorite vigilante, Moon Knight.
This new version of Moon Knight is written by Warren Ellis and drawn by Declan Shalvey. Not since David Finch has Moon Knight looked so good. So kudos to Declan Shalvey. Don’t worry Mr. Ellis, I didn’t forget about you. Warren Ellis is the MAN! I am very hopeful with what issue #2 will bring after reading issue #1. As long as they keep this creative team together I know this book will only increase in sales.
Now for those of you who have not read issue #1 of Marvel Now!’s Moon Knight the following review will let you know what you are missing without spoiling the issue for you. Issue #1 begins with the whispers that the savior of the night is back in town, Some people call it hearsay while others welcome his return. It appears “Mr. Knight” has made his return just in time. There is a killer on the loose and Moon Knight’s “talents’ are needed to not only track the killer but stop him as well. That is all I am telling you about this issue. I want you to read it as much as you NEED to read it. You will not be disappointed, trust me.
Another thing I like about this title is the editor’s choice of the letters page. We all know that Marc aka Moon Knight is a little on the crazy side, so what do they call his letters page? Going Postal. I love it. Not only is it called Going Postal, but emails will not be accepted, only “snail” mail delivered by the Post Office will make the cut. I am totally loving the creative team for this. Thank you Nick Lowe for you brilliance as an editor. I gladly give Moon Knight #1 an 11 out of 10 rating and look forward to reading more as should you. Until next time, Get your READ on!
Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Knight.
