Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, is excited to announce a new series of Elvira comic books set to debut in 2013.
If you’re a Horror fan then the name “Elvira” isn’t a strange one to you. Next year our very own “Mistress of the Dark” is making a comeback to the pages of our beloved comic books. Shes had 2 runs in the past, the first one being “Elvira’s House of Mystery”, which was published by DC Comics from 1986-87. The second run was much more successful which was with Claypool Comics which started in 1993, they published 166 issues over 14 years and only ceased when the company’s distributor, “Diamond Comic Distributors”, could no longer carry it.
With author R.H. Stavis (“Daniel’s Veil”, “Activision’s Transformers: War for Cybertron”) and artist Jeff Zarnow (“Godzilla”, “68”, “Battle Beasts”) on board it’s sure to be a hit with fans. The stories are set to focus on Elvira herself this time (usually she introduced short stories) and are said to be centered around a backstory about Halloween, well what other plot would you expect?! It’s going to be fun seeing her back in print and I’m very much looking forward to reading these as they’re sure to be filled with humour, monsters and everything else we associate with our beloved icon.
