Annabel and Lucas are faced with the challenge of raising his young nieces that were left alone in the forest for 5 years…. but how alone were they?
First off, let me wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
2013 looks to be another busy year for the Horror genre and “Mama” is one of the most highly anticipated films amongst Horror fans. This Spanish/Canadian film looks set to continue the creep factor that we’ve seen so much of lately, which in my opinion is no bad thing. After viewing the trailer (which you an see below) I was quite impressed with what I saw, even though it does the typical thing of giving too much away, it does fill me with promise that we might be witnessing a 2013 gem so early in the year.
With Guillermo Del Toro attached to the picture, serving as Executive Producer, it gives you even more reason to be filled with hope. The casting is quite impressive also, we have child actress Megan Charpentier who is an actress to definitely keep an eye on for the future, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau who always puts in a solid performance and also Jessica Chastain, who I was quite surprised about as this isn’t usually a role she plays but that’s not to say she won’t be any good. I’m glad of the fact that Andrés Muschietti has been given the Directors chair as it’s his original vision that brought us the film, he made a 3 minute short film with the same title, and now we get to see his vision brought to life.
