Any Horror fan worth their salt knows the name Tom Savini, the man is a living legend in the Horror community. Over the years he has given us some of the most amazing effects work that is still talked about today. He’s one truly talented artist who has earned his status in film, let’s not forget he’s done more than just special effects, he’s acted, produced, directed, done make up, done stunt work and more.
With all that it’s no surprise there’s a documentary coming out about his career, in-fact I’m more surprised it took this long! The focus is all on Savini (of-course it is a documentary about him) but the roll call for other Horror legends who talk about him is amazing, we’ve got George A. Romero, Sid Haig, Doug Bradley, Greg Nicotero and more, hell we even get Horror punk legend Jerry Only from the Misfits.
As a life long fan of Tom Savini’s I am excited to see this documentary, I even wrote about him when he was named my icon of the month on my Raz’s Midnight Macabre blog (which can be read HERE). I’m also a big documentary fan so this is a win-win for me, I’m looking forward to hear what other Horror legends have to say about him. I’m sure I’m not the only one out there that’s seriously excited for it’s release.
