The Seasoning House – where young girls are prostituted to the military. An orphaned deaf mute is enslaved to care for them. She moves between the walls and crawlspaces, planning her escape. Planning her ingenious and brutal revenge.

The British Horror scene is just getting better and stronger with each passing year. With the genre itself in a bit of a slump fans are broadening their horizons and looking elsewhere for their Horror fix it’s a perfect time for independent film-makers to get their creative juices flowing and get their work out there. Which brings me to “The Seasoning House”.

This film is the Directorial debut of Paul Hyett, mainly known for his work as a special effects and make up artist on films such as “The Descent”, “Wilderness”, “The Cottage”, “Doomsday”, “Eden Lake” and many, many more. It’s always a risk taking on a position you’re not familiar with but everybody’s got to start somewhere but it can have it’s advantages as new ideas can be used. The cast also contains mainly unknowns apart from Sean Pertwee, who never puts in a bad performance. I’m very much looking forward to this film, it seems very atmospheric and thrilling. Let’s hope it beats my expectations.
