In issue #1 we witnessed the death of Daredevil at the hands of Bullseye. We also observed Daily Bugle reporter, Ben Urich trying to come up with an angle for the story Jonah wants him to write. He looked for witnesses to get clues about the battle and it was one witness that gave him the name or phrase Mapone. What does it mean and what does it have to do with Daredevil’s death? Why was that his dying word? Ben is determined to find out.
Issue#2 begins with Ben trying to find one Natasha Romanova aka the Black Widow. No matter where he looked in Hell’s Kitchen, he couldn’t find her. His digging stirred up some company he would wish he hadn’t met. Nick Fury himself let Ben know a secret, the Black Widow was dead. Well, Ben started to ask Fury what Mapone meant, but when he turned around, Nick was gone.
He then pays a visit to Milla Gilliam, Matt Murdock’s ex-wife. Let’s just say he wasn’t welcome in her house. Well, struggling for answers when there isn’t any, Ben goes to Daredevil’s funeral to see who shows up. Ben thinks he recognizes someone and decides to take her plate down and find her the next day. Only problem is, this strange visitor doesn’t want to be found. If you haven’t read the story what I say next may spoil it so stop reading now. This visitor at the funeral that Ben traced was none other than Elektra. Does she know what Mapone means? Well, Ben hopes to find out or die trying, and with Elektra involved, death may come sooner than later.
This story arc has been well written from day one. It really plays out to be a great detective story. Marvel chose the right people for the job to get this story done right. I give this story a perfect 10 out of 10 rating. If I were you, I would go to my nearest comic retailer and secure this issue while you still can.
