Greetings Gamers,
How was your 2014? Mine was a blast with all kinds of new games to play. Today, I want to review my favorite app game there is right now. The game is called Contest of Champions and it is a result of the great partnership of Marvel and Kabam games. This is by far the best Marvel app game in my opinion. Kabam did a wonderful job putting this game together.
What makes this game so great? Well, for starters, you are fighting against Kang, Thanos, and others after the Collector has summoned you to do so. You see the Collector has been collecting Champions and it is up to you to free them from their crystalline prison. The official description of the game is as follows, “An Elder of The Universe known as The Collector has summoned you to a contest of epic proportions against Marvel super villains Kang The Conqueror, Thanos and more to come. Experience the ultimate free-to-play fighting game for your mobile device.” (Official Facebook page)
My team so far contains the heroics of Hawkeye, Spider-Man, Iron Fist, Colossus, Wolverine, Iron Man, Black Panther, Gamora,and the Scarlet Witch. I also have one bad ass on my team known as Abomination. You have several rankings of heroes/villains. You start with one star and can go all the way up to four stars. The more stars, the more special attacks you have. You can sell your heroes as well. For example, when I got my 2 star Wolverine, I sold my 1 star. The beauty is, if you get a duplicate champion, you get cool stuff in it’s place.
Once you h ave your Champions, you can edit your team to go on quests. There are also versus modes as well as special events, but you want to always do at complete at least one quest a day. You get all kinds of bonus crystals as well as “treasure” chests that can unlock energy, health, and in some cases a new Champion. Right now, I am fighting against the Adaptoids. I already defeated the 6 chapters quest that was against Kang.
Each fighter has something that makes them unique. Mutants, brawlers, aliens, and scientists are just some of the different types of traits your fighters have. When choosing a fighter, you may want to keep that in mind, it may help you in the end. You also have different areas of battle. My favorite arena to fight in right now is Dr. Strange’s mansion.
Another feature that makes this game amazing is the the daily crystals. Every 4 hours you get a new energy crystal. These crystals can give you gold, energy, or even health. Every 24 hours you get a Champion crystal. This crystal doesn’t just offer champions, but you have a strong possibility of getting a 2 star champion by using this crystal. There are also Arena crystals from completing the versus mode. Harder to get a champion, but it is possible.
I cannot say enough positive things about this game. It is just pure awesome! I mean, it is almost like having control of the classic “Secret Wars” story line in your hands. I gladly give this game a strong rating of 11 out of 10. By far the best App Game of 2014. I cannot wait to see what 2015 has to offer.
