Earth 2 continues to be a must read book from the New 52 series from DC Comics and issue # 8 is proof of that. Why is Earth 2 so good, well when you have a writer like James Robinson, it’s not that hard to do.
Issue # 8 with a meeting with King Marov and the one and only Steppenwolf, and any DC Comic fan can tell you that Steppenwolf is not one you want to tangle with. Well, it appears that King Marov thinks he can steal Steppenwolf’s technology and kill him. Well, he was wrong.
King Marov doesn’t realize that while he is “entertaining” Steppenwolf, that a soldier is destroying his army and killing his men. Who is this warrior that fights for the name of Steppenwolf? Her name is Fury and she is the daughter of the late Wonder Woman. When the King realizes he has been tricked he goes for the assault on Steppenwolf only to be another victim. With the death of King Marov, Steppenwolf takes control of the city of Dherain, but that is not enough for his bloodlust. Steppenwolf wants the world. Is there anyone left on the planet that can stop Steppenwolf from his global conquest? We will have to wait for issue # 9 to see.
The writing is perfect and as always Cinar delivers on the art. I give this issue a perfect 10 out of 10 rating and would recommend this issue for anyone to read.
