What has Hal and Sinestro gotten themselves into? As we last left them, it turns out they were teleported to Earth in the home of the Black Hand because of the Book of the Black. As the Black Hand looks through the pages, he notices that they have been changed and wants to know what they have done. Of course Hal and Sinestro are just as puzzled about what the book has written on the pages as the Black Hand. But of course, the Black Hand thinks it’s a trick and summons his army of the dead.
Before the Black Hand can attack, Hal uses his ring to neutralize him. However, they realize it was too late because the dead are coming home. Meanwhile on Oa, we see the guardians are plotting on correcting the “problems” amongst all the Corps. How do they plan to do this? You have to get this issue.
Back on Earth, we see Hal and Sinestro fighting for their lives against an army of the dead. No rings, just zombies attacking on instinct. They zombie horde just continues to attack and now the Black Hand is back in the mix so Sinestro comes up with a plan. He calls on his yellow lantern and has Hal focus his energy towards the lantern to destroy it. With their combined rings plus the yellow lantern, they were able to destroy the undead army. As Hal and Sinestro lay unconscious, the Black Hand looks in the Book of the Black to see what he considers a terrible wrong. One of the fallen lanterns will be the greatest Black Lantern. Just who will it be? Pick up this issue as well as the Green Lantern Annual #1 to find out.
Again, the writer for Green Lantern has been outstanding! I am a diehard fan from back in the day and I love every minute of the New 52 lantern titles. The art in this issue is extraordinary. I give issue #12 a 12 out of 10 rating because it is that damn good!
