Its Monday and that means its time for an exciting interview with a talented cosplayer. Today’s interview focuses on the always beautiful Jeanne Killjoy. Show Jeanne some love after reading the interview and give her FB page a like. You will be glad you did.
1. Who are you and where are you from?
Jeanne Killjoy from South Jersey/Philadelphia area
2. How did you discover cosplay?
In middle school, my friends and I would dress up like video game and anime characters for fun. I didn’t start going to conventions until 2010 though.Since then I’ve done somewhere between 25-30 characters and even started making some of my own costumes, which I’m really proud of. I hope to continue making my own costumes as I go on with cosplaying.
3. I really love your Rogue cosplay. What made you choose her?
Rogue has always been my favorite comic book character. As a kid I grew up watching the animated series. I probably liked her back then due to the hair and accent to be honest, but as I grew up I loved how her character developed and even found myself relating to her. I put her off for awhile because I was worried I wouldn’t do the character justice, but I’m glad I did it. I’ve since improved the costume and plan on doing three other versions of her in 2013.
4. I know you have cosplayed other comic characters, which one was your favorite?
Rogue is definitely my favorite. After Rogue, I would have to say my FemGambit was my next favorite.
5. What other genres do you cosplay?
I’ve done everything from comics, videogames, anime, manga, and TV.
6. What is your favorite way to show off a new costume?
Photoshoots are always a great way to show off the new costumes, especially when I can make it look like I’m in the setting of the character.
7. Do you do other modeling besides cosplay?
I do. I’ve done more alternative genres, but I love doing high fashion and runway modeling as well.
8. What are your plans for the future?
Cosplay-wise, I have some comic, TV, and anime themed cosplays lined up for 2013. Outside of cosplay, I’m going to start training in January to do professional wrestling. I’ve been a fan of wrestling since I was a kid and it’s been a dream of mine to do it, so I’m doing everything I can to make it happen. I’ve been going to school for TV and film, so it will be a nice change from what I’ve been used to for the past few years.
9. Where can my readers see more examples of your work?
I have a cosplay/modeling page on facebook! www.facebook.com/jeannekilljoy
10. If you had to pick one genre to cosplay, which one is your favorite?
That’s such a hard question! I would have to go with comics.
