Today is day 3 of the “Something to be Thankful for Week” at SomeWhatNerdy. Today’s cosplay interview is with a very beautiful, talented, and successful cosplayer. Her name is Soni and here is her interview. As always, enjoy!
1. Who are you and where are you from?
My name is Soni and I am from the Philadelphia area.
2. How did you discover cosplay?
I had already been into anime for a few years and through it I met some friends who went to anime conventions. I went to my first convention with them in 2003. Ever since then, i’ve gone and made my own costumes.
3. I really love your cosplay. My top two favorites are Gamora and Spider-woman. How did you decide to cosplay them?
Spider woman is a strong character so it wasn’t hard to choose her, also I wanted to make something recognizable for a charity group I am a part of, East Coast Avengers. Gamora was a last minute choice to coordinate with a friend cosplaying Nova at a convention. Gamora is also a strong female character. Most dangerous woman in the universe!
4. What other comic characters have you cosplayed?
Oh wow, huntress, black widow, spider woman, gamora, that’s all i can think of.
5. What other genres do you cosplay?
Video games, anime, movies, shows whatever I like I will cosplay there is no limit!
6. What is your favorite way to show off your cosplay, conventions or photo-shoots?
Probably photoshoots, as I actually like going to conventions and going to panels/signings.
7. Do you do other modeling besides cosplay?
Sure, when its a paid gig.
8. What are your plans for the future?
Make some of the costumes you see worn at conventions. I want to make stuff for other people!
