Boy it is good to be back! Things have been crazy around here lately with Hurricane Isaac and the mess he caused. Since I was feeling a little insane during the storm, I felt the next cosplay interview I should post would focus around an insane character that we all know and love. As you can tell by the above image, I am talking about the Joker or Mr. J as the ladies love to call him. You may recognize this cosplayer because he has been on fire since his SDCC appearance. I have seen him on countless websites as well as footage on the SyFy channel as well as the Travel channel and of course G4. Anyway, enough rambling, lets get on with the interview. Enjoy!
1. Who are you and where are you from?
I am a native Southern Californian actor named Anthony Misiano, you can find me on imdb.com.
2. How did you discover cosplay?
I never did. I just spent a long time on a costume for a character I thought suited me well, and wore it in public. People then reacted to it, and called it “cosplay”. Had never heard the word before really.
3. I really love your Joker cosplay. What made you choose him?
I have a big personality, a lack of most fears, and a crazily expressive face with a few devilish qualities. The character was only appropriate.
4. Have you cosplayed other comic characters?
Nopedy, nope.
5. What other genres do you cosplay?
Same as above.
6. Do you go to conventions to show off your cosplay or do you do photo shoots only?
Most of the photos of me on the web were from San Diego Comic Con 2012, although I would LIKE to do some photoshoots of this character.
7. What are your other hobbies besides cosplay?
Filmmaking, though I would love it to be more than a hobby. I think a dream job is really just a hobby you get paid to do full time. I love film as a medium because it’s a brilliant culmination of so many art forms. Design, decoration, costume, makeup, performance, cinematography, photography, and so on. I’ve always dabbled in many art forms, so filmmaking has been a wonderful way to exercise all of them toward one coherent vision. You can check out www.moonflowermovie.com/downloads.html to see info on my most recent project.
8. What are your plans for the future?
A nice veggie stir fry.
9. Where can my readers see more examples of your work?
Previously mentioned venues should suffice for now.
10. If you had to pick one cosplay, which one is your favorite?
I am biased toward my current one and only, the Joker. But I would love to work on another someday, maybe collaborate with someone on a project even if I don’t wear it myself.
