It seems that IDW is becoming a power house in the realm of comics as of late. They have successful titles such as Transformers, Ghostbusters, G.I. Joe, KISS, and the Mars Attacks series just to name a few. Well, IDW has come up with a brilliant “crossover” event dealing with those loveable aliens from Mars and some of our favorite IDW titles. Today’s review is about one of those titles. Today, I am reviewing the Mars Attacks KISS issue from this series.
All I can say is it is a good read. Not to be taken serious of course, more of a tongue in cheek book but entertaining just the same. Basically the main idea of the story is a scout party of Martians gets the powers that were meant for Kiss back when they were youths. The Martians became empowered with the cosmic powers of the Spaceman, the Cat, Starchild, and the Demon. With these new powers, the aliens attack and cause more damage than a scout party should be able to do.
Just when you think all is lost, the cosmic powers that ne fight the aliens form inside while Gene, Paul, Ace, and Peter fight the aliens from the outside. The outcome, all is lost for the invading men from Mars while the four youths that stopped them created a destiny for themselves.
Now, I am not going to tell you everything that happened of course because I want you to take the time to read the title. If you are a KISS or a Mars Attacks fan, I suggest you get this issue. if you are strictly a Mars Attacks fan, I ould get the other titles that will hit shelves in January as well. I myself cannot wait until the Transformers issue. With that said, I give this issue an 8 out of 10 rating. Seeing the aliens in their KISS identities was awesome and the book was just pure fun!
