This is where I usually write about an upcoming feature but with this film I just couldn’t bring myself to do a simple write up, so here is my thoughts on the “Evil Dead” remake.
Ever since “Army Of Darkness” was released 21 years ago there were rumors of a new “Evil Dead” film. I had faith for a long time , as did many others, that Sam Raimi and Horror icon Bruce Campbell would not disappoint us and deliver a new feature starring our beloved Horror character ‘Ash’ in a new crazy adventure.
The rumours never mentioned a remake, it was always about a new installment that was simply titled (by fans) “Evil Dead 4”. I do admit that as the years went by and reading interviews with Campbell himself stating he was now too old, that my hope in the film slowly dwindled.
When the rumour mill did start talking about a remake I initially brushed them off as just that, rumours. You couldn’t blame my naevity as nearly every week were bombarded with rumours about remakes, in hindsight it was stupid of me to disregard the rumour, especially in this day and age where remakes are a huge trend but I honestly never thought they would remake such a beloved cut classic film.
Then the official news release was made, “Evil Dead” the remake was in fact happening…..
