Iron Man is getting the anime treatment again and this time he’s bringing the Punisher with him. April 16th will see the release of a new anime styled Iron Man DVD entitled ‘Rise of the Technovore ‘.

Mad genius Ezekiel Stane has created a bio-tech armor that rivals if not surpasses the capabilities of Iron Man’s and he uses it to attack during the unveiling of Tony Stark’s prized new satellite. Innocent people are killed in the ensuing chaos including Stark’s best friend War Machine. Detained for questioning by S.H.I.E.D. Iron Man escapes to clear his name and stop the mysterious bio-technology known as the ‘Technovores’ from destroying all life on our planet.
With S.H.I.E.LD. Agents Hawkeye and Black Widow hot on his trail Stark does what every Marvel hero does when other Marvel heroes are mad at them, he gets help from the Punisher.
All in all the trailer for this looks great. The anime style has always fit Iron Man well and the science fiction theme is perfect for the blending of Marvel and anime/manga concepts together. Also of note is that Norman Reedus (Daryl from The Walking Dead) will be doing the voice work for big Frankie Castle. The Punisher is my personal favorite comic character and being a huge Walking Dead fan as well I am more than excited to see, or hear, Reedus’ version of this sometimes delusional vigilante.
