When a group of friends enjoying a bachelor cruise in the Caribbean stumble upon a research facility on a remote island, a deadly virus is unleashed.
After the debacle of “Cabin Fever 2: Spring Break” I was truly shocked to hear there was another instalment coming.
Despite this I knew I’d end up watching it, especially after I heard that “The Goonies” star Sean Astin would be starring in it. That just peaked my already high curiosity and made it a must see for me, so much so that I found myself actually excited for the release.
I was really surprised when I finally got to view it, the film is a perfect mixture of the first two releases. The writers seemed to have learned where “Cabin Fever 2” went wrong and steered the films story back towards what it was loved for – gore with an actual story.
The film is meant to serve as a prequel to the franchise but there is contradictions within the film itself which I’ll let you work out for yourself as I don’t want to post any spoilers but it does reveal the origins of the virus which is fun to see.
The film itself is fun enough, you get what you expect which you can’t complain about. The acting is watchable but lets be honest, by now we’re all just waiting for the gruesome to happen and in that aspect it’s no disappointment.
“Cabin Fever – Patient Zero” is a decent enough film, it’s got a-lot of entertainment value.
