Remember that scientist that was trying to perfect a matter transportation machine but got fused with a fly when one of the little critters got into the transporter with him? Well, this story is about three of his descendents.

By now the well had started to run dry for this series, but that didn’t mean we couldn’t get one more entry in the franchise.

Capturenn

Vincent Price is missing from this installment. By the time this was filmed, Price was under contract to American International Pictures. It’s a shame as he was the mainstay of the series and it would’ve been nice to wrap up the series with him.

With the film being produced in the UK it showcases a lot of British talent from the time,  Brian Donlevy puts in a stellar performance that makes the rest of the cast pick up their game, as does Carole Gray. They’re most certainly the most notable performers in the film.

Capture

Sure the film seems corny now and admittedly hasn’t aged well but it still has a-lot going for it, it’s got a great atmosphere that’s very tense and sometimes spooky and whilst it isn’t as good as it’s predecessors it does still tell a great story.

Believe it or not this film was rarely seen for many, many years after it’s release, as it was the only entry in the entire “Fly” series never to receive a home-video release. It did not receive its home-video premiere until 2007, when it was released on DVD in a box set with the original series of films.

Curse of The Fly Ending

“Curse Of The Fly” is a fun watch and is a good addition to the series, but it was a good place to stop the original franchise.
