Well folks, there you have it. The entire “Jaws series review
It’s been great fun looking back over this franchise.
“Jaws” was a film that spawned the summer blockbuster and instantly became a part of pop culture. It has had it’s own theme park ride (Which I had the pleasure of going on), it’s own video game (3 releases to date, not including an app game), it’s own musical and more.
It created an influx of animal killer movies, some great, some awful. It has also spawned ‘fake’ sequels over the years with the likes of “Jaws 5: Cruel Jaws” and “Jaws in Japan” which I highly advise you to stay away from.
*SPOILER ALERT* In all four Jaws movies, a reference is made earlier in each film to how the shark is going to die. In part 1, Hooper warns Brody about the air tank “blowing up if you screw around with it;” in part 2, Hendrix and the old man find the power line which later electrocutes the shark; in part 3, an argument ensues about Philip FitzRoyce using grenades; and in part 4, Jake is working on a transmitter that sends out high frequency.
The first release is obviously the best of the series and still terrifies audiences to his day, I know for a fact it had a huge effect on me. Let’s also not forget that classical piece of music that accompanies it, it still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on edge.
In all honesty, “Jaws” as a franchise is quite weak. I’d advise people to stick to the first two releases, watch Part 3 for a laugh but avoid Part 4 at all costs.
