Well folks, there you have it. The entire “Lost Boys” series review.
It’s been so much fun looking over this loved franchise.
There’s no doubting the the 80’s original film brought a resurgence to the vampire genre along with “Near Dark” which was released in the same year and the earlier “Fright Night”.
It has also gained a very dedicated fan base and became very popular with with later fans over the years. It’s a film that is held in high regard and deservedly so, it has aged a-lot better than other films that were released in the same era.
The sequels, well I think we can admit that they weren’t exactly the greatest but I don’t think we expected much anyway, especially after a 20 year plus wait. The mini comic series that was released top bridge that gap though are great fun to read and I seriously recommend you give them a read.
There was word of a fourth instalment starring Corey Haim But he died before anything could come of the project. Corey Haim’s character ‘Sam Emerson’ is continued on from a sub-plot and post-credits scene from “Lost Boys: The Tribe” and personally I would’ve loved to have seen where they went with it.
As a franchise “The Lost Boys” isn’t the strongest, but there are worse out there and at least we have the classic first film.
