Well folks, there you have it. The entire “Prom Night” franchise review.
In all honesty it’s not been fun looking back over this franchise.
Out of the entire series I only really enjoyed “Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II” and it’s always frustrated me that the character was basically destroyed after one film. At least it took ‘Freddy’ a few films before he became more of a comedian than a villain.
‘Mary Lou’ could’ve been a great ‘bad girl’ character, the next horror icon. Just think of the ‘Angela’ character from “Night Of The Demons”, we could’ve had something along that path, I really would’ve loved if they had continued the series with her.
Having a Prom Night is something I never had at school, it’s only something that’s been happening in the UK over the last few years so maybe I didn’t enjoy some of these films as I have no connection with this whole event.
If any of you are wondering why I never reviewed the “Prom Night” remake then you obviously haven’t seen it and in my opinion it’s better off staying that way, it was a truly awful film. This was at the beginning of the trend of PG-13 Horror, that should be enough of a warning.
The “Prom Night” series is not the greatest in he slightest, just remember though – “It’s not who you come with, it’s who takes you home”.
