A college student creates and sells a drug called ‘Z’ on campus which resurrects the living dead, who wreak havoc at a Halloween rave.
I finished my last post with – “the worst is yet come” and this is the film I was talking ab0ut, filmed back to back with “Return Of The Living Dead: Necropolis” what chance did it have?!
With having the same characters as the previous film you’d think there would be some sort of continuity but amazingly enough they seemed to have forgotten all about the zombies from the previous film! HOW?!?! When the zombies break out and start eating people, why don’t they think, “Hey this is just like what happened in that big building that my uncle worked at a few months ago. They are zombies everyone, shoot them in the head!”?
I can understand them wanting to forget all about “Return Of The Living Dead: Necropolis”, I wish I could too, but to once again treat the audience like numb-skulls is just ridiculous, it’s like watching Part 2 all over again! There are so many plot holes that even someone with as low an IQ as the studio thinks would still notice. I did find it hilarious when topless women started appearing, it was like the studio thought “We need something to distract the audience from this awful plot holed film” Sory guys, it didn’t work.
The dialogue in the film is just pure garbage, it makes you wonder what director Ellory Elkayem actually did, was he even on set?! I’m a fan of the writer of the film, William Butler, his writing work for films such as the “Demonic Toys” series is great and he’s featured in some of my favourite movies but I have to say he failed here.
The only thing to have some praise with the last film was it’s effects, this film does even get praise for that. The effects and make up are awful, it’s hard to decide which is worse though, the acting or the effects. I think it’s fair to say that both are terrible and that just makes the whole film even worse to watch. I’m so glad the studio decided to end the franchise after this film, they should’ve just left it alone at 3 and they would’ve ended on a high.
I know this review is a-lot shorter than usual but I find it heartbreaking that the franchise nosedived after showing so much promise. Once again, don’t waste your money or your time, you’re not missing out on anything!
