Well, Friday is Halloween and I decided to get in touch with one of my past interviews because she really loves this time of year.  I really love a lot of Meg’s cosplays and I am sure you do as well.  She really knows how to make her cosplays come to life and that is very hard to do.  She agreed to a follow-up interview and I knew thus week would be the best time for it.  So, Ghouls and Goblins, here is my interview with Meg Murderher.

SWN: Hi Meg, how have you been since last we talked? (1st Interview)

MM: Awesome! Overwhelmed but awesome. I’m getting hitched on Halloween (it’s a ‘Til Death Do Us Party) so I’ve been pretty swamped with that. You know it’ll be a fun wedding when severed heads are on your decoration list.

SWN: Congrats! Last time we focused on cosplays like your Lobo, but this time I want to focus on your Horror themed cosplays. First of all, do you have a favorite horror movie?

MM: Oh man, MAYBE. It’s a tie to be honest. The two movies I can watch over and over and never get sick of are Evil Dead 2 and Creature From the Black Lagoon. I like my sass (Ash) and my class (or classic horror, rather).

SWN: We have seen some pics lately of you as Frankenstein’s Monster’s Bride and as Vampirella. How did these cosplays come to life?

MM: I’m a sucker for Universal Horror – and I’ve done several renditions of the Bride over the years, including a replica of her classic dress (paired with gray scale skin paint to homage the film itself as best as possible). For having the least screen time of the entire Universal Monster’s she certainly stands up toe to toe with her black and white brethren. Vampirella was always on my to-do list, and the shots recently were actually just a test shoot to see how the suit and wig looked. She’s a hero with sex appeal that happens to kick some series evil ass. Can’t get much better than that. I look forward to upgrading her and adding a cape so I can bring her to cons.

SWN: Do you have a favorite horror themed cosplay?

MM: Recently my favorite (and most time consuming) to wear is the Bride of Frankenberry (inspired by the art of Becca Whitaker). All time favorite? Ashley J. Williams. I get to be in pants, boots and wield a shotgun and a chainsaw. Hail to the Queen baby. I have a few new ones planned for 2015 I can wait to reveal.

SWN: I also understand you work with a site known as Gores Truly, can you tell us more?

MM: Absolutely! GoresTruly was founded by myself and several girlfriends because while we loved horror we felt that most of the sites available to discuss/review it were primarily male driven. So we figured what the hell? Let’s get a domain and get to writing! We’ve been online for over three years now and are still ranting and raving about our favorite horror themed things, from books to movies to comics. It’s a blast, and a fun outlet to geek over what we love the most. We’re going to make our best efforts to grow it next year into something bigger, so stay tuned for that.

SWN: I also know that you are affiliated with the site shecreature. Exactly what is shecreatures?

MM: SheCreature is a spin-off of GoresTruly that features handmade horror accessories such as custom cups, aprons and jewelry. Although my time has been limited lately to focus on it, Nash (co-creator) and I plan on vending at our first cons next year and even start offering some GoresTruly swag. Mixing cute, creative and creepy has been a hell of a lot of fun for us both.

SWN: If you could be in any horror film, which one would it be and why?

MM: Any Hellraiser or Nightmare on Elmstreet film. Pinhead and Freddy are two of my favorite sadistic bastards. I would gladly scream my heart out on either of those film sets. Pinhead has that S&M allure and I really just want to drink beer with Robert Englund in a boiler room and talk about life philosophies. Oh and ya’ know, get murdered and stuff. Recently I was fortunate enough to be offered a part in the upcoming Bubba The Redneck werewolf. Look out for me as a nun who gets a little bit too familiar with Satan himself.

SWN: What are your plans for this Halloween?

MM: I’m actually getting hitched! To my best friend (and my Frankenberry) Josh. It’s a Halloween themed wedding – costumes are absolutely required – our guest book is the Necronomicon and even our cake stand pours blood over chains a’la Hellraiser style. It’s not by any means traditional but I couldn’t imagine doing it any other way.

SWN: Well, congratulations!  What can we expect from you in the future?

MM: 2015 is going to be a crazy year. I’m planning two new Universal Monster themed costumes; two armor builds with my good friend (and tattoo artist) Tara Renee; and a handful of spandex related suits. Mostly villains of course.

SWN: Do you have anything you would like to promote at this time?

MM: If you want to keep up with me I can be found –

Twitter: @MegMurrderHer
And of course on www.gorestruly.com
