Well so far the #0 issues I have read have been worth talking about.\u00a0 Especially the Bat titles as well as the Lantern titles.\u00a0 In this review, I am taking a look at the Green Lantern Corps #0.\u00a0 The story is titled Freshman and it stars Guy Gardner.\u00a0 Besides Hal, Gardner was always my favorite.\u00a0 I mean, his attitude says it all, but what gave him this attitude?\u00a0 Well, that is what this issue explains.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You see, back in the day Guy was a cop, but was set up and had to leave the force.\u00a0 Well, being that his entire family are cops, that did not sit well with his father and Guy was always treated like a screw-up.\u00a0 He kept his distance from his family but made his way back to Baltimore for a very special occasion.<\/strong><\/p>\n

That occasion was his sister\u2019s graduation from the Police Academy.\u00a0 He tried to keep a low profile but he was spotted so he decided to make the best of it and catch up with the family.\u00a0 During the reunion, Guy\u2019s older brother had to go on duty and he asked Guy to check in with their father and try to mend fences.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Needless to say that was a no go and his father still saw him as the black sheep.\u00a0 Well, anyone that knows anything about Guy knows that he has a short fuse.\u00a0 So he starts arguing with his father about how he will never be good enough when he hears that there is an officer down and Guy knows by the location announced that it was his brother.\u00a0 So he jumps on his bike and goes to help his brother.\u00a0 He is able to get his brother away from the gunfire.\u00a0 While he is helping his brother get to safety, a ring chooses Guy for his ability to overcome great fear.\u00a0 With the power of the ring, Guy gets his brother safely to the hospital.<\/strong><\/p>\n

So whether Guy liked it or not, he was back on the beat, but this time it was as a Galactic Policeman for Sector 2814.\u00a0 The issue ends with Guy getting his official corps \u201cuniform\u201d after finishing the \u201ctraining\u201d.\u00a0 You may think I gave a lot away, but I guarantee you that I only touched the surface.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I definitely give this issue a strong rating; let\u2019s say 12 out of 10. I would also recommend this to any Lantern fan, old or new.\u00a0 It was well written and the artwork is literally out of this world.<\/strong><\/p>\n
