Silhouettes From Popular Culture<\/em><\/span> is a gift from Olly Moss to every nerd so they might safely house “girlfriend-safe art” pertinent to their geeky interests, in plain sight.\u00a0 Being simple and minimalist, this book of popular portraits has a Victorian aesthetic, which gives it an ambitious appeal. With an introduction\u00a0 claiming these black paper silhouettes are carved with industrial lasers while the artist laughs maniacally, Olly Moss should have your interests peaked before even opening this book to the first silhouette.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/h4>\n

He delivers more than expected with both his clever selection of characters and occasional humorous details, some of which remind the viewer how a character met an end, won the day, or had romance.\u00a0 His quality of work should come as no surprise; much of his results have already been circulated through the internet in viral fashion. Companies, such as, Sony Entertainment, Lucasfilm, Nike, Apple and many others have relied on his creativity with good reason.\u00a0 With such a wide assortment of characters (over a 100,) nearly everyone will enjoy relating to at least a few of the included portraits. I recommend this collection for your coffee table. It’ll really bring the room together.<\/strong><\/h4>\n
