Today you are in for a treat.\u00a0 In my quests I have come across many talented cosplayers, but this cosplayer is truly one of the best!\u00a0 Her name is Margie Cox and you will love her cosplays, but don’t take my word for it.\u00a0 Read the interview and then go to her FB fanpage and look for yourself.\u00a0 Well enough jibber jabber, here is my interview with Margie Cox.<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Who are you and where are you from?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Margie Cox.\u00a0 I\u2019m from the Atlanta area.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2. How did you discover cosplay?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My fianc\u00e9 initially got me into costuming for charity work.\u00a0 I helped him make his first Batman costume, he started visiting hospitals and doing community events with a group called Heroes Alliance.\u00a0 I started costuming soon after we got married.\u00a0 We felt like we were doing something important that not everyone could do for the kids.\u00a0 I don\u2019t really feel terribly important in the grand scheme of things.\u00a0 I don\u2019t feel that I\u2019ve captured anyone\u2019s heart or imagination, but dressing up as character\u2019s who have a symbolic significance, it\u2019s brought so much publicity to causes worthy of the general population\u2019s attention.\u00a0 Some of our photos are shared hundreds of times.\u00a0 It\u2019s a good feeling to think that you might be making a positive impact.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Somewhere along the road, comics and costuming for me and my husband really because a family bonding experience.\u00a0 These characters and ideals have shaped our values and personalities.\u00a0 It\u2019s a personal and fulfilling experience for us both.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

3. I really love your Star Sapphire cosplay.\u00a0 What made you choose her?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Star Sapphire was a costume I wanted to do when my husband started costuming as Hal Jordan, Green Lantern.\u00a0 I really love the Green Lantern comics. Star Sapphire has been a classic part of that mythos, and when I saw the more modern costume, it looked challenging to me.\u00a0 I wanted to create something beautiful.\u00a0 I wanted to put my soul into creating that costume.\u00a0 It was wonderful to see how much Green Lantern and Star Sapphire fans appreciated my work.\u00a0 As an artist, it\u2019s really all about your work being seen and appreciated.\u00a0 The costume and character are very dear to me.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a04. Out of all the comic characters you cosplayed, which one is your favorite?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wonder Woman.<\/strong><\/p>\n

5. What other genres do you cosplay?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Comics and Star Wars for right now.\u00a0 I\u2019d love to get into some Star Trek too!\u00a0 A Klingon costume has been on my list for years.\u00a0 I need to make that happen.<\/strong><\/p>\n

6. Which method do you love to show off your costumes the best?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Well, I like shooting in a studio because it\u2019s a bit more controlled and it\u2019s professionals working on my hair and make-up.\u00a0 It gives people a better idea of how a costume may look in a movie or if a comic panel were real what it would look like.\u00a0 Conventions are fun, but it\u2019s more to hang out with friends and to get pictures with a big group of people than to show off your individual costume.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

7. Do you do other modeling besides cosplay?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I do reference and fashion modeling.\u00a0 I\u2019m George Perez\u2019s model for Huntress in the New 52.\u00a0 I\u2019ve modeled for fashion designers in Austin and Atlanta, recently Rick Gonyo and Marian Collier.<\/strong><\/p>\n

8. What are your plans for the future?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I hope to write one day full time.\u00a0 I\u2019ve written a novel and have been working on some comic projects.\u00a0 Until then, I have a great job as a personal trainer where I feel like I\u2019m helping people and I\u2019m in a really good place right now.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
