{"id":14803,"date":"2013-03-22T21:45:11","date_gmt":"2013-03-23T02:45:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/somewhatnerdy.com\/home\/?p=14803"},"modified":"2013-03-22T21:46:07","modified_gmt":"2013-03-23T02:46:07","slug":"throne-of-atlantis-comic-review-pt-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/somewhatnerdy.com\/home\/throne-of-atlantis-comic-review-pt-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Throne of Atlantis Comic Review #2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/somewhatnerdy.com\/home\/throne-of-atlantis-comic-review-pt-2\/3we1\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14804\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14804\" title=\"WaR\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/somewhatnerdy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/3we1-e1363954062272.jpg?resize=660%2C466\" alt=\"\" width=\"660\" height=\"466\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>I realize that the Throne of Atlantis storyline ended a couple of weeks ago, but I started the review promising to finish the story arc and here I am.\u00a0 I apologize for the delay in the review but this story is worth talking about.\u00a0 The Throne of Atlantis arc is hands down the best DC story of the year.\u00a0 Not only do we see Arthur having to fight the league, but we also witness the birth of the JLA towards the end of the arc.\u00a0 Enough of the boring intro, let&#8217;s get to the story.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Chapter 3 of Throne\u00a0 of Atlantis occurs in Justice League #16.\u00a0 In this issue, Aquaman is forced to fight his friends in the Justice League as well as his brother Orm and the army of Atlantis.\u00a0 Orm has declared war on the surface world do to a missile strike that hit Atlantis.\u00a0 The league is trying to save the Earth from destruction.\u00a0 While Arthur is trying to prevent the destruction of both worlds, but no one can see that&#8230;yet.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Meanwhile, back at the Watchtower, Cyborg and Vulko are trying to figure out who started this war by striking Atlantis. They are also keeping a close eye on the battle.\u00a0 When he sees how bad it really is, he realizes the league needs more members and he activates the accounts of all the supers to create a larger Justice League.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/somewhatnerdy.com\/home\/throne-of-atlantis-comic-review-pt-2\/aquaman_16_panel\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14805\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14805\" title=\"Aquaman_16_Panel\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/somewhatnerdy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Aquaman_16_Panel-e1364005008458.jpg?resize=660%2C502\" alt=\"\" width=\"660\" height=\"502\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>The\u00a0story continues with Chapter four which is found in Aquaman #16.\u00a0 You see the reinforcements taking on Orm&#8217;s army as Cyborg makes the modifications needed for deep sea survival.\u00a0 As all of this is happening, Arthur has to save his friends from the Trench.\u00a0 As it appears that all hope is lost, Arthur is helped by Mera and Cyborg.\u00a0 They manage to get the founders of the league to safety only to watch the creatures of the Trench arise out of the depths of the oceans to attack the surface world.\u00a0 Now as the story has been told, the &#8220;surface dwellers&#8221; think that Orm released the monsters of the Trench, but we find out that is not the case.\u00a0 How do we find out?\u00a0 Because they attack Orm and his army and he acts as if he never knew who they were.\u00a0 It is then that Arthur realizes that someone else has started this war between surface and sea.\u00a0 It was none other than Vulko.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/somewhatnerdy.com\/home\/throne-of-atlantis-comic-review-pt-2\/aquaman-16-pg-017_zpsa71717e8\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14806\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14806\" title=\"Aquaman-16-pg-017_zpsa71717e8\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/somewhatnerdy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Aquaman-16-pg-017_zpsa71717e8-e1364005543746.jpg?resize=660%2C507\" alt=\"\" width=\"660\" height=\"507\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>The story concludes In Justice League #17.\u00a0 The Justice League and Orm&#8217;s army from Atlantis have their hands full, not only against each other but the Trench as well.\u00a0 Also,\u00a0Arthur is forced to fight his brother Orm for the crown of Atlantis.
