Today is new comic book day and part 4 of DC Comic’s Trinity War hit the shelves.\u00a0 So, I figured I would do a review of what has happened so far.\u00a0 Since this is a 6 part storyline, I figured sharing my thoughts after part 3 was only natural.\u00a0 First of all, let me just say the events in the Trinity War have made for a good read.\u00a0 In my opinion the story actually starts in Justice League of America #4 when Catwoman is “killed”.\u00a0 We also see an important character introduced in issue #5.\u00a0 That character being the one and only, Dr. Light.\u00a0 But that’s not all,\u00a0a secret society of evil has taken the League by surprise and has placed all their pawns in place. Unfortunately, those pawns are the heroes of Earth.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Trinity War actually starts in issue #22 of the Justice League. We find ourselves in the middle of a war dealing with magic and what appears to be Superman’s corruption after touching Pandora’s Box.\u00a0 Superman gets a little “drunk” with power and Pandora is forced to take the box and vanish.\u00a0 Meanwhile the League is looking for Shazam and they asked for Superman and Wonder Woman’s assistance.\u00a0 Well, of course Superman agrees because he may be the only one who can stop Shazam if the need arises.\u00a0 Well, Superman and Shazam do end up having a “fight”\u00a0.\u00a0 The League wants to know why Shazam was Kahndaq, but they are not alone.\u00a0 The JLA is there to escort the original Justice League out of Kahndaq.\u00a0 Well, Superman has had enough and confronts Dr. Light, and it appears he kills him in the heat of battle.\u00a0 The JLA has no choice but to arrest Superman.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As the JLA tries to arrest Superman, it causes a rift between both Leagues and they start fighting each other.\u00a0 Ironically it is Superman who puts an end to the fighting and willing goes with the JLA to be detained for his crime.\u00a0 As they are healing from their wounds at A.R.G.U.S headquarters, Firestorm is approached and asked if he is capable of making kryptonite if needed (brilliant move in my opinion).\u00a0 Meanwhile, Batman is talking to Superman and he notices something is not right.\u00a0 Superman is sick, but why?\u00a0 Wonder Woman leaves to get the Justice League Dark to help find out what magic does the box possess and how did it corrupt Superman.\u00a0 Back in Superman’s cell, the Question frees Superman because he knows that he did not really kill Dr. Light.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is when it gets interesting.\u00a0 If Superman didn’t kill Dr. Light, who did?\u00a0 The Question and Superman are willing to find out and they may have more help on their side.\u00a0 Elsewhere in A.R.G.U.S headquarters, Firestorm is successful in making Kryptonite and he hopes that he will never have to use it.\u00a0 As the rest of the League looks over Dr. Light’s remains, the Phantom Stranger comes to clue them in to Wonder Woman’s plans causing the league’s to scramble and prepare for the worst.\u00a0 Some members of each League team-up to go after Wonder Woman and the Justice League Dark, while others thers stay behind and help Superman look for clues to who really killed Dr. Light.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Of course there is more to the story than I am saying but you need to read it for yourself.\u00a0 If you haven’t already read these issues or even purchased them yet, I recommend that you go on Comixology right away and get your issues ordered.\u00a0 While you are there, I would pick up Constantine #5 and the Phantom Stranger #11 to get the\u00a0 tie-in stories to the Trinity War.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

So far, I give this storyline a rating of a strong 8 out of 10.\u00a0 The artwork has been super and the writing is just phenomenal!\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n
