Greetings Nerds and Nerdettes,<\/strong><\/p>\n

It’s Monday so that means its time for another pulse pounding interview with a very talented cosplayer.\u00a0 This week is no different.\u00a0 Today we focus on the very beautiful and talented Kira who most of you may know as Hawkgirl.\u00a0 Let’s face it, when you see her cosplay Hawkgirl, she brings the character straight from the comics and into the real world.\u00a0 So, without further ado, here is my interview with the lovely Kira.<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Who are you and where are you from?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My name is Kira Kouture and I\u2019m originally from Yokohama, Japan.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2. How did you discover cosplay?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I discovered cosplay through a dear friend of mine named Jezeroth. He has inspired and gotten me into cosplaying when I was in college. It took me awhile to do my own cosplay due to living life and just flat out being busy. Now things have slowed down I can finally cosplay and show everyone what I can do.<\/strong><\/p>\n

3. I really love your Hawk Girl cosplay. What made you choose that character?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Well first of all I\u2019m a huge Hawkgirl fan. Second, her costume looked very challenging to bring to life, so I chose her as a great way to start and show my skill as a designer and cosplayer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

4. How long did it take to make that costume?<\/strong><\/p>\n

This costume took me about a year to complete, had a lot of trial and error with the wings. I\u2019m the kind of designer that does quality over quantity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

5. Have you cosplayed other characters? If so, who?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Recently I have just cosplayed Poison Ivy with my own flare at Dragon Con 2013.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a06. Do you go to conventions to show off your cosplay or do you do photo shoots only?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I do both, attend conventions and go do photo shoots.<\/strong><\/p>\n

7. Do you do other modeling besides cosplay?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes I\u2019ve done other modeling, from high end fashion print to runway.<\/strong><\/p>\n

8. What are your plans for the future?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Keep bringing challenging characters to life, have photos taken of them, and eventually sell prints and pieces of my costume to those who love my work or dressing up J<\/strong><\/p>\n

Oh, I have way too many hobbies. From playing way too many console games to mountain bike riding.\u00a0\u00a0 I never get bored.\u00a0\u00a0 I\u2019m a nerd who loves to stay in shape.<\/strong><\/p>\n
