In may not be a well known fact, but most of us at Somewhatnerdy are wrestling fans. \u00a0So it was only natural to review the first issue of the WWE Superstars comic. \u00a0I mean, whats not to love about this comic? \u00a0It is about the current WWE Superstars in a world all their own written by a wrestling legend known by all, Mick Foley. \u00a0I know it has been a while since I actually took time to review a comic and I apologize for that but even with my hectic schedule I knew I had to get this review done. \u00a0So, let’s begin shall we?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first thing that caught my eye with this series are the variant covers. \u00a0I mean, they are paying respect to the greats. \u00a0For example, the Cover B is drawn with respect to Kirby and features Kane Vs. HHH. \u00a0That happens to be the issue I picked up. \u00a0My favorite cover goes to the F4 cover featuring CM Punk since “It’s Clobbering Time!” is his catch phrase as he heads to the ring. \u00a0So, I must give nothing but love to the various artists who took the time and really thought out their plans for the cover. \u00a0Now let’s talk about the\u00a0story line\u00a0shall we?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The story takes place in Titan City, a metropolis where it pays to watch your back. \u00a0The story starts with HHH letting John Cena out of prison to find the “Money in the Bank” briefcase that literally has money in it, 10 million to be exact. There is just one problem, Cena was framed and has no idea where the case is. \u00a0This does not stop HHH and Randy Orton from keeping tabs on Cena. \u00a0You see Orton wants to rule Titan City and he needs to not only find the case, but eliminate major threats to his reign.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Further into the story we are introduced to CM Punk and his mission to end the corruption that has plagued the once wonderful Titan City that he loves so much. \u00a0On his way to recruit some help, he is ambushed by the Wyatt family but gets some help from a giant who he seems to mistrust. \u00a0While all this is going on teams are being formed and challenges are being made. \u00a0I could tell you more, but I do not want to ruin the book for you.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is a reason Mick Foley is a best selling author. \u00a0This comic promises to deliver a Main Event story every issue. \u00a0I know this will not be everyone’s style, but I ask you to give it a try. \u00a0I think you will be glad you did. \u00a0The writing of Mick Foley delivers as well as the great artwork from Alitha Martinez. \u00a0This is a must have for wrestling fans, comic fans, and collectors of all things cool. \u00a0I give this book a strong 9 out of 10 rating and I know I will be in stores for issue #2.<\/strong><\/p>\n
