Oh how I have been waiting for this moment, the moment when Frank Castle aka the Punisher gets his own series again. \u00a0I have been going through Punisher withdrawal. \u00a0Don’t get me wrong, I am loving the Punisher action we see monthly in the Thunderbolts title, but it doesn’t compare to the damage Frank does when he is alone. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Punisher #1 was released on Wednesday, February 5, 2014. \u00a0It was a day that I anticipated for months. \u00a0When I finally got my copy I read it immediately and loved every page. \u00a0For those of you who have not been keeping up with Frank, let me fill you in.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As I have already mentioned in this article, Frank has been doing some time with the Thunderbolts. \u00a0As payment for his service, General Ross agreed to help him out on a mission. \u00a0It just so happens this mission was to wipe out the last big “family” on his New York hit list. \u00a0Well, when the job was done Frank needed a new start. \u00a0That is where issue #1 fills in the “gap”, if you will. \u00a0With the NY families dismantled Frank leaves for new hunting grounds, which in this case is Los Angeles, the city of angels. \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Well, as you can imagine, Frank has a never ending thirst to “punish” the evil for their wrong doings and L.A. has a lot of punishing that needs to be issued. \u00a0He hasn’t been there that long, but the criminal element is already afraid of him. It is this fear that will help Frank on his\u00a0never ending\u00a0mission. Now I could tell you more specifics\u00a0from the story, but I am choosing not to. \u00a0This is one book you need to pick up and read for yourself. \u00a0Trust me, you will be glad you did.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The writing of Nathan Edmondson is absolutely flawless and pulls you in around every turn. \u00a0The artwork of Mitch Gerads is amazing and goes well with the story that is being told to us. \u00a0The combination of writing and art play like a movie between the pages. \u00a0I am definitely happy with the choices that Marvel made to bring the Punisher back to his own title. \u00a0This is simply the beginning of pure AWESOMENESS! \u00a0That is why I give this book a rating of 11 out of 10. \u00a0I look forward to what the team of Edmondson and Gerads have in store for us in the future. \u00a0Oh, and by the way, I am working on an interview with Mitch Gerads as you are reading this, so be looking for that in the near future.<\/strong><\/p>\n
